31st May 2022
Over the past year, BC has experienced the extremes of the heat dome and catastrophic flooding. These events have left berry growers with many questions both for immediate crop management and long term resilience.
This workshop includes three sessions with research-backed information on impacts and management strategies:
- Management guidance for flood-impacted berry fields with Eric Gerbrandt, Research Director for the BC Blueberry Council, Raspberry Industry Development Council, and BC Strawberry Grower’s Association
- Heat damage, tolerance and mitigation in berries with Claire Luby, USDA Blueberry Breeder and David Bryla, USDA Horticultural Scientist
- How climate change affects pest management with Juli Carrillo, Assistant Professor, University of British Columbia
